Performance VPS, Foundational VPS, or VDS?

How the three NoBull Networks server lines differ in CPU, storage, and isolation, with plain guidance on which one fits a given workload.

NoBull Networks sells three lines of Linux and Windows servers, and the honest answer to "which one?" depends on what you are running, not on which is biggest. Here is how they differ and where each one is the right call. Every line shares the same Seattle network, the same 99.9% network uptime SLA, full root access, and the same engineers on call.

Performance VPS: single-thread speed and NVMe#

The P-series runs on AMD EPYC 4000-series hosts with high boost clocks and NVMe RAID storage, and we cap average node load at 60% so a busy neighbour cannot eat your headroom. Results are published quarterly on VPSBenchmarks rather than asserted. Pick it for anything that is latency-sensitive or single-thread bound: web applications and WooCommerce, Node.js and automation tools like n8n, small databases, game servers you run yourself, CI runners, and AI agent gateways.

Foundational VPS: general-purpose value#

The F-series is the budget-conscious, general-purpose line: enterprise Intel hosts with hardware RAID-10 SSD storage, larger disks per dollar than the P-series, and entry plans sold on longer billing cycles. Pick it for static and low-traffic sites, development and staging boxes, file sync and Nextcloud storage, monitoring, VPNs, and anything where "always on and reliable" matters more than peak clock speed. Every Foundational plan includes one free automated backup, and you can move up to Performance later without a reinstall.

VDS: dedicated cores, near bare metal#

A Virtual Dedicated Server pins physical CPU cores to your VM instead of sharing them, so throughput is predictable under sustained load. Pick it for control panel and reseller hosting (cPanel and WHM, DirectAdmin) where one noisy tenant should never bruise the rest, production databases, build farms, and any workload that runs the CPU flat out for hours. It costs more per core, and that premium buys isolation.

Rules of thumb#

  • Bursty and interactive: Performance VPS.
  • Steady, storage-heavy, or cost-driven: Foundational VPS.
  • Sustained CPU or multi-tenant: VDS.
  • Not sure: start smaller on the line that fits the workload shape and upgrade; it is a prorated invoice, not a migration.

Sizing for a specific application#

The Solutions guides give recommended plans per stack, with the reasoning shown: n8n, Nextcloud, WordPress, cPanel and DirectAdmin, OpenClaw, and Hermes Agent. For anything unusual, ask; an engineer will size it honestly even if the answer is "smaller than you think".
