Shipping Hardware and Remote Hands

How to ship servers to the NoBull Networks Seattle facility, what our engineers do on receipt, and what the Remote Hands service covers.

Updated 3 min read

You do not visit the NoBull Networks colocation floor; our engineers do the physical work for you, from the loading dock to the last cable label. This keeps every cabinet clean, auditable, and locked, and it means the person racking your hardware is the same person who will answer the ticket about it later. Here is how the process works and what Remote Hands covers once you are live.

Shipping your hardware#

  1. Agree the receiving window. Once your quote is accepted we confirm the shipping address, the dates we will receive, and the ticket to use for tracking numbers.
  2. Pack it properly. Ship pre-racked equipment or individually packaged servers, switches, and accessories with rails, power cords, and any transceivers you want used. Label everything with your company name and the ticket number.
  3. Send configuration notes. In the ticket, include: the rack order (top to bottom), which port on each device connects to which uplink, the VLAN or IP plan, iDRAC, iLO, or IPMI addresses and credentials if you want us to verify management access, and anything unusual (a device that must power on before another, a console cable to leave attached).
  4. We receive, inventory, and rack. Our engineers unbox, inventory against your notes, install rails and hardware, cable power to the A and B feeds, and connect network per your plan.
  5. Handoff. We confirm link status and power draw with you before anything is announced live, and hand over the ticket with the final port map and photos on request.
Physical access

Customers do not have access to the data center floor. All hardware installation, maintenance, and replacements are performed by our certified engineering team on your behalf, 24/7. It is how we keep the floor secure and the cabling honest.

Remote Hands#

Remote Hands is the on-site work our engineers do for you after installation. Because the team already manages the floor, response times are measured in minutes, not site-visit appointments. Covered work includes:

  • Hardware diagnostics and visual checks (LEDs, alarms, cabling)
  • Drive and RAM swaps with parts you supply or that we hold for you
  • PCIe card installation
  • Power cycles and physical reboots
  • Cable tracing, re-seating, and labeling
  • Temporary KVM over IP mounting for out-of-band console access when your own management interface is unreachable

Request Remote Hands by ticket with the rack position, the device, and exactly what you want done. For anything time-critical, say so in the first line. Extended projects and spare-parts storage are quoted in advance so there are no surprises.

Replacing or adding hardware later#

Ship the new component with a ticket referencing the existing service and the intended rack position. Adding a full device may change your power commit or port count; we will tell you before installing if it does. Removed hardware can be shipped back to you at cost or securely disposed of on request.

Still stuck? Real engineers answer tickets around the clock, and the status page shows anything network-wide before you ask.
