YOUR FILES, YOUR RULES
SELF-HOSTED NEXTCLOUD
Nextcloud turns a server you control into your own file sync, sharing, and collaboration hub: files, calendars, contacts, Talk calls, and office editing, with clients for every desktop and phone. Run it on a NoBull Networks VPS and your data sits on RAID-protected storage in our Seattle facility, behind a credit-backed 99.9% network uptime SLA, with no per-user fees ever.

WHY HOST NEXTCLOUD ON NOBULL NETWORKS

A personal cloud lives or dies on three things: storage you trust, transfer you do not have to ration, and a provider that leaves your data alone.

Storage Worth Trusting

RAID under every byte
  • All customer data lives on RAID-1 or RAID-10 arrays, SSD on the Foundational line, NVMe on Performance
  • One free off-node backup included with every VPS plan
  • Foundational plans deliver the best storage per dollar for growing file libraries

Sync Without Rationing

TB-scale monthly transfer
  • Desktop and mobile clients sync constantly; every plan carries a 4 TB to 32 TB monthly allowance
  • 1Gbps port connection on every VPS, so big files move at line speed, not drip speed
  • Direct Tier-1 peering out of Seattle keeps latency honest for the whole household or office

Private By Address

You know exactly where your data is
  • Your disk lives in the Lumen Seattle 1 facility at 1000 Denny Way, SOC 2 audited and ISO 27001 certified
  • We sell servers, not your data: no scanning, no mining, no third-party analytics on your files
  • Nextcloud adds server-side encryption and two-factor authentication on top

EVERY DEVICE, ONE PRIVATE HUB

Clients sync in, collaboration flows out, and the single source of truth is a disk with your name on it.

Desktop clients Windows, macOS, Linux Mobile apps iOS and Android Web browser files, calendar, Talk YOUR NOBULL NETWORKS VPS Nextcloud files, groupware, Talk RAID SSD or NVMe plus off-node backup Office editing Collabora or ONLYOFFICE Share links clients, family, partners App ecosystem notes, photos, passwords
Consumer cloud storage bills per user, per month, forever. A self-hosted Nextcloud serves the whole family or team from one flat-priced server, and adding another user costs exactly nothing.

The Math Of Owning Your Cloud

Open Source, No Per-User Fees, No Fine Print

Nextcloud's server is open source under the AGPL and free to run. Officially it wants PHP 8.3 or newer, MySQL, MariaDB, or PostgreSQL, and surprisingly little memory: Nextcloud recommends 512 MB per process, so even our smaller plans clear the bar with room to breathe.

This is an unmanaged deployment and we say so up front: you install Nextcloud with root access using its excellent official docs, and our engineers keep the hardware, network, and SLA honest underneath it, 24/7.

Five cloud storage subscriptions for five people is rent. One server that holds everyone's files is ownership.

  • No Per-User Licensing Nextcloud server is AGPL open source
  • RAID-Protected Storage SSD or NVMe arrays under all customer data
  • 1 Free Off-Node Backup included with every VPS plan
  • TB-Scale Transfer 4 TB to 32 TB monthly on VPS plans
  • Full Root Access your server, your apps, your rules
  • 99.9% Network Uptime SLA credit-backed, not marketing

FROM ORDER TO FIRST SYNC

Nextcloud's official install paths are well-trodden. A patient hour gets you from checkout to syncing clients.

Order your VPS

Pick a plan sized for your file library and check out. Your server deploys in minutes with full root access on a supported Ubuntu LTS.

Install Nextcloud

Use the official All-in-One Docker container for the fastest path, or a classic Apache, PHP, and MariaDB install if you prefer full control of each piece.

Point your domain

Aim a subdomain like cloud.yourdomain.com at your dedicated IPv4 and let the built-in Let's Encrypt integration handle TLS.

Connect your devices

Install the desktop and mobile clients, create accounts for the family or team, and watch the first sync fill your own disk instead of someone else's.

Nextcloud maintains detailed admin documentation at docs.nextcloud.com, including hardening guides, backup strategy, and the app store for Collabora, ONLYOFFICE, and hundreds of extensions.
Frequently Asked Questions
Self-hosting Nextcloud on a NoBull Networks VPS

Explore our knowledgebase or visit our client portal, where we will be happy to help you and provide any support required.

Is Nextcloud really free?
Yes. The Nextcloud server is open source under the AGPL, and the desktop and mobile clients are free. There are no per-user fees when you self-host. Nextcloud GmbH sells enterprise subscriptions with vendor support for organizations that want them, but nothing about self-hosting requires one.
What does Nextcloud officially require?
The current admin manual calls for PHP 8.3 or newer, a MySQL, MariaDB, or PostgreSQL database, and Apache or nginx on a 64-bit Linux, with 512 MB of RAM recommended per process. In practice we suggest starting at 6 GB of RAM or more so the database, PHP workers, and file previews never fight for memory.
How much storage should I plan for?
Your plan's disk holds the OS, Nextcloud itself, and your files, so budget your library plus growth. The Foundational line is the value play: the F40 carries 96 GB of RAID-10 SSD. If you outgrow local disk, Nextcloud's External Storage app can mount S3-compatible or SMB storage alongside it.
Can we edit documents together in the browser?
Yes. Install Collabora Online or ONLYOFFICE from the Nextcloud app store for real-time document, spreadsheet, and presentation editing. Office servers want real CPU and memory, so for teams doing daily editing we point you at the P40 or larger rather than the entry plans.
Do you install or manage Nextcloud for me?
No, and we would rather tell you that than sell a managed sticker. You run the install with full root access following Nextcloud's official docs. Our engineers keep the infrastructure fast and online 24/7 and help with server-level issues; application-level Nextcloud questions belong to its docs and community, which are genuinely good.
What happens to my data if the hardware fails?
Every byte of customer data sits on RAID-1 or RAID-10 arrays, so a single drive failure is a non-event. On top of that, every VPS plan includes one free backup stored off the host node. We still encourage a second copy you control; Nextcloud's own backup guidance covers it well.

READY TO OWN YOUR CLOUD?

Order a VPS, run the official installer, and tonight your files sync to a disk you control.
